DESCRIPTION
The Shoeshell Road Fish Passage Project removed an existing 30" culvert & replaced it with a 12 ft culvert crossing under Shoeshell Road on Wollard Creek. Two log control weirs were also placed for grade control. This project was identified by the Skagit System Cooperative through a systematic culvert inventory of the Skagit Basin funded by DOT in 1998-99. The project was prioritized by the Skagit Watershed Council as a top priority blocking problem in the Application of the Skagit Watershed Council Strategy, 11/99 (Project #10.1SF103.1.1). The project also is within a targeted restoration area identified by the Council.
