DESCRIPTION

On behalf of the Stillaguamish Tribe, Cascade Land Conservancy acquired 19.35 acres of riparian floodplain on the North Fork Stillaguamish River on December 15, 2010 as part of greater protection and restoration efforts in the Stillaguamish Basin. The Chinook Salmon Recovery Plan identifies the project area as part of the First Tier Floodplain, First Tier Large Wood, and Second Tier Riparian Priority areas. The Stillaguamish Tribe was unable to complete restoration work on the property in the timeframe of the grant funding, however there will be future invasive plant removal and riparian planting funded by other sources.
