DESCRIPTION
This project will help address temperature issues by supporting the riparian restoration of over 32 acres (5.4 stream miles) of main stem North Fork Stillaguamish River. The planting strategy will focus on using 3 to 5 gallon or larger conifer planting stock to focus on accelerating the establishment of a conifer-dominated riparian zone. Additional plantings of other trees and shrubs will be completed in some of these restored areas, as needed, but the focus of all riparian treatments will be to establish the long term bank and stream protection by large conifers. Extensive site preparation, site characterization, maintenance, and long-term monitoring are also
integral to this project.
