DESCRIPTION
Olaf Strad Creek is a tributary to Quilceda Creek, which is a tributary to the Snohomish River. It supports primarily Coho salmon and resident/sea-run cutthroat trout and provides spawning habitat for steelhead. The headwater is a series of wetlands west of Highway 9. The stream flows in a westerly direction generally south of 168th Street NE to 67th Avenue. There it flows south on the west side of 67th Avenue on a three-acre parcel owned by Snohomish County and a five-acre parcel owned by Mark Scoville and Sue Mc Cluskey. The Adopt A Stream Foundation is requesting funds for the Olaf Strad Channel Relocation project to create final designs and securing all permits and Landowner Agreements necessary for implementation. The project is currently identified in the DRAFT 2011 3-year Work Plan and is preliminarily ranked as 3C, a "Need", the third of three tiers of ranking, with "Most pressing need", and "Pressing need" ranking above need. That being said, The Olaf Strad stream relocation project outlined above will result in a significant improvement to one of the long abused he
