Approximately 50 different locations along Vashon/Maury Islands have been identified as having high habitat resource values worthy of protection. This list of locations was developed in part by the Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust. Protection of these nearshore habitats could occur through purchase, conservation easements, tax incentive programs, or other changes to property ownership. Alternative protection measures could include education and informational workshops for interested property owners.
