DESCRIPTION
General Services Administration (GSA) Marsh is a restoration site next to the Diagonal Marsh restoration project created by the Port of Seattle in 1988. The site once served as a large dock and a parking lot which were removed in order to create the wetland in 1995. The marsh provides intertidal habitat that contains a substantial bench of hard-stemmed bulrush (Scirpus acutus). These plants provide food and protection for fish using the marsh during high tides. This summary was adapted from a People For Puget Sound fact sheet (www.pugetsound.org).
