Add water quality treatment for stormwater runoff from freeway in this reach.
Per Water Tenders, WSDOT added a media filter system called Ecology Embankment to manage runoff from the expanded highway. Water Tenders monitored water quality in Bear Creek for three years post-project and found dissolved copper continuing to make it into Bear Creek. The relocated channel project completed by City of Redmond expanded the buffer between the creek and the highway, so whether this continues to be an issue is unknown. However, this recommendation has been completed as far as WSDOT's involvement is concerned.
