DESCRIPTION

Carey/Holder/Issaquah Creek Confluence: 120 acre site proposed for conservation easement (Bonomi farm). Once protected, restore riparian vegetation, add livestock fencing, and implement other best management practices for livestock (I248).
Update 7/2010: One half of neighboring DNR property (~28 acres) was added to this project because the property became available for a transfer from DNR. Otherwise, the property might have been sold for development.

5/2011: King County signed a 50 year lease with WA DNR for parcel # 362306 9005 (the portion south and west of the Issaquah- Hobart Road). King County has the option to purchase this property, beginning in January, 2015. King County intends to purchase this property, in fee, at its earliest convenience.

6/2013: Updated metrics based on 2011 DNR transfer and 2012 purchase of the originally-targeted conservation easement.

6/2015: Buffer fencing portion of project still remains. KC working to identify appropriate strategy to implement this work. See I248.
