Martha Washington Park: Regrade shoreline to gentle slope, add fine-grained beach substrate, remove riprap and rock armoring. Update 12/2009: Work was completed in November 2009. Shoreline armored with rip-rap was converted to more natural gravel beach areas. Large wood was placed in four areas and the restored area was planted with a broad palette of native gournd cover, trees, and shrubs, including vegetation that will overhang the water during summer. This project was wholly funded by a grant from the King Conservation District. Monitoring will occur in spring 2010.
