DESCRIPTION
The Lower Lewis Creek Restoration project involves in-stream and riparian improvements along 1,800 linear feet of Lewis Creek to improve juvenile Chinook rearing and kokanee spawning habitat. Features of the project include bioengineering slope protection and boulder grade control structures intended to control erosion and sedimentation, as well as sediment removal at the creek delta at Lake Sammamish to restore natural creek function. Constructed in 2015. Included 1900 ft of instream restoration, remove 400 cy of floodplain fill, installation of 25 grade control rock wiers, installation of 290 pieces of LWD for habitat and bank stabilization, and 675 native plants.
