DESCRIPTION

Pierce County acquired one parcel (parcel # 0518322701) to allow construction of a setback levee on the left bank of Puyallup River from about RM 27.2 to 28.6 south of Orting. This project will install a series of Engineered Log Jams (ELJs), and construct approximately 7500’ of discontinuous setback log revetment. This project required acquisition of 2 parcels (totaling 68.14 acres). However, this project received only partial funding and the award used for acquiring only one parcel (20.14 acres). Phase 1 of this project was constructed in 2018, and phase 2 is currently under final design.
