Schedule Start Date: 9/22/2022 End Date: 3/31/2026
Category Category: Acquisition
DESCRIPTION
The Land Trust proposes to pursue permanent protection of 5,100 feet (0.97 mile) of shoreline along the primary spawning reach of Ohop Creek through fee acquisition of four properties. These properties total 98 acres in the Ohop Valley and along the steep valley bluff that contains seeps and springs that drain to the valley. This project focuses on acquisitions to support salmon recovery partner efforts to enhance and restore in-stream, riparian and floodplain habitats along this reach of Ohop Creek. Permanent protection and habitat restoration will benefit Chinook, steelhead, chum, coho, and pink salmon.  This project is scalable and each property acquisition can be completed independently. The Land Trust requests that acquisition of properties A, B, and D be considered the primary project; and that acquisition of property C be included in the project scope if additional funding is available.
