The objective of this restoration project is to enhance the riparian habitat conditions in the active channel migration zones along a portion of the Middle Reach of the Nisqually River, Powell Creek and associated wetlands. A 90-acre underplanting of native, coniferous species will enhance stand development in historically logged, deciduous-dominated areas. A 3-acre planting will address reed canarygrass dominated areas along Powell Creek and associated wetlands.
