DESCRIPTION

The Nisqually Land Trust used this funding for the Mosman shoreline project, to purchase and permanently protect a section of the mainstem Nisqually River (WRIA 11) by acquiring in fee 35 acres. This property was and still is undeveloped woodland with excellent riparian habitat values. The land will remain undeveloped in perpetuity; this will facilitate improvement of natural salmon, primarily Chinook salmon and steelhead that both depend on the mainstem NIsqually for spawning and rearing.
