DESCRIPTION

Blocking fish passage through this property, is an old agricultural dam- a structure made of concrete and metal. The dam is falling apart, creating debris that is falling into the stream, impeding the exchange between freshwater and saltwater. This project will consist of removing 80 cubic yards of concrete and metal debris in the channel and riparian area. Excess sediment and invasive plant species, such as Himalayan blackberry, will also be removed. The stream channel shall be widened, have 10 tons of gravel installed on the streambed as well as two root wads with trunks attached in the stream banks. Over 150 native plants will be planted in the riparian zone.
