Starting with a WSU Beach Watchers survey of Whidbey Island in 2002, Beach Watchers and MRC contractors have surveyed the shorelines of both Whidbey and Camano island with satellite GPS systems. They have mapped and photographed the structures they found -- bulkheads, groins, ramps, piers, pilings, concrete, steel rails and rubber tires.
Part of the Northwest Straits Nearshore Habitat Evaluation project.
