DESCRIPTION
WDFW project.

Removal effots started in 1996. The English Boom area extends from the English Boom Park access east and south along the Emrich dike and covered ~250 acres. Spartina anglica, planted in early 1960 in an effort to stabilize the dikes to the south has choked out native species between the highest and lowest tidal levels; leaving the mid-tidal zones a monoculture of Spartina. In 2000 this area encompased ~135 acres of tidelands.
