DESCRIPTION
In March 2013, the National Park Service via the Land and Water Conservation Fund acquired 34 acres of the former Westcott Bay Sea Farms which was adjacent to English Camp for $2.5M. The acquisition included about half-mile of the south shore of Westcott Bay. The acquisition was incorporated into the existing 900 acre English Camp with its 11 shoreline acres.
The remaining 36 acres were transferred to the San Juan Island National Historical Park (National Park Service) in December 2013.
About 5 waterfront acres of the original property are retained along with the potential for ongoing operations of the oyster business on the tidelands.

The Webb property, Westcott Bay, San Juan Island is the largest unprotected shoreline parcel remaining on Westcott Bay. The 76 acre property features the outflow of Doe Creek and nearly 2,800 feet of shoreline and is adjacent to the English Camp National Park. While there is an existing dock and commercial oyster operation, the rest of the shoreline is undeveloped. Westcott Bay is one of the most important sites for eelgrass in the County. Currently on the market, the property could be divided into 15 separate lots. Known to many San Juan Island residents as part of the Westcott Bay Sea Farm, the property also offers rich upland forest and wetland habitats.
