Comprehensive, high quality habitat, species and process data has been developed for San Juan County over the last decade. Application of the data to improved protection and restoration efforts is currently limited as land managers do not have the level of understanding of the available data and its strengths and weaknesses required. A full day workshop for local planners, land managers, local officials and land use consultants will be hosted to present nearshore habitat assessment project methods and results, with an emphasis of likely application (e.g. SMP).
