DESCRIPTION
The Tribe completed design, permitting, and construction of .95 mile of setback levee on Tribal owned property between RM 1.75 to RM 2.70 of the USACE dike setback project. The Tribe supported the Clallam County Dike setback project by removing up to 4,500 linear feet of the federal dike for Clallam County. This support was necessary to allow Clallam County to move their phase of the project forward before the flood season of 2022, preventing the potential for flooding and keep the community safe. The rivers edge project included development of design/construction plans for the installation of 10 engineered log jams, and construction management. The ELJ's were installed the end of October 2022.
The Tribe completed preliminary design, and final design of the levee setback project. The Tribe also completed design and design plans for removal of,4500 lineal feet of the Clallam County federal levee; final engineering/designs for 10 ELJ's, and engineering services during the construction. The Tribe signed amendments to this grant that provided a no-cost time extension through 4/30/2023 and worked with our project manager to make changes to the project description expanding the geographic scope to assist Clallam County.
