DESCRIPTION

CWI contracted Environmental Science Associates and Natural Systems Design to conduct a hydrodynamic assessment of the lower Elwha River and a restoration feasibility analysis of the historic west estuary. The report is attached in PRISM. The report was informed by topographic and bathymetric data collected in 2020, such that hydrodynamic modeling of the lower river could be conducted to understand habitat and flood implications of different levee modification scenarios. Community meetings were held with the neighborhood prior to project initiation to ensure that the project specifically addressed any neighborhood concerns. A draft of the final report was provided for community review and input prior to finaling the report.
