DESCRIPTION
The Tribe acquired the several properties. The project included purchasing up to 29 acres of floodplain habitat, which was exceeded. A total of 32.33 acres were purchased. A total of 9 development rights along the Dungeness river were extinguished, and three residents utilized relocation assistance funds. Demolition of structures and decommissioning of utilities (on-site septic system, wells, PUD power, landline phone service) of purchased parcels, happened on the Robinson, Flath & Craft, and Smith LLC properties. A volunteer planting day on the Robinson properties occurred in January of 2018. The Tribe is working on a draft conservation stewardship plan, and when completed the plan will be used to provide guidance to Tribal leaders, Staff, and Tribal Citizens on management of lands purchased for conservation purposes.
