DESCRIPTION
The Schmidt easement is located on Center Road in Center Valley. State Salmon Habitat Funding provided the funds for Jefferson Land Trust (JLT) to purchase the easement, protecting approximately 11 acres of the headwaters of the west fork of Chimacum Creek, just upstream from the Barnhouse easement and restoration work. Important conservation values of the property include the forested uplands, riparian habitat, spawning and rearing habitat for salmon and cutthroat trout, and habitat for other wildlife species. The easement prevents any use that would jeopardize these conservation values.
