DESCRIPTION

Jefferson Land Trust proposes to acquire fee simple interest in the last undeveloped privately owned property in this mid reach of Snow Creek in Jefferson County, located at approximately river mile 3.4. This 8.7-acre property is a missing link between two Land Trust Preserves and would result in more than 100 acres of contiguous Snow Creek habitat. Preservation of remaining intact forested habitat in this historic reach of summer chum distribution will prevent further degradation from future development of these 4 platted parcels, and will contribute to healthy conditions for all salmonids in the watershed. Once acquired, we will work to remove the noxious weeds and restore the degraded habitat areas with the help and guidance of the North Olympic Salmon Coalition.
