DESCRIPTION
The proposed project will investigate the feasibility of property acquisition and floodplain restoration on 16 parcels located along the Tahuya River between RM 4.5 and RM 6, with a primary goal of reducing degradation in downstream summer chum spawning grounds caused by excessive sediment movement from this reach, as well as a loss of riparian habitat. The end result will be a conceptual design to advance restoration objectives and to acquire key parcels for restoration. Altogether, this proposal includes outreach to 11 landowners, appraisal investigation, appraisals, development of a conceptual design, and 2
acres of riparian plantings.
