DESCRIPTION
Acquire 297.12 acres in the Lower Big Beef Creek Watershed which includes estuary, freshwater wetland and riparian habitat critical to coho salmon, ESA listed Hood Canal Summer Chum Salmon and ESA listed Puget Sound steelhead. The property is currently owned by the University of Washington (UW).
HCSEG proposes to acquire 297.12 acres in the Lower Big Beef Creek Watershed that includes estuary, freshwater, wetland, riparian, and upland habitat that is critical to coho salmon, ESA listed Hood Canal Summer Chum Salmon and ESA listed Puget Sound steelhead. The property is currently owned by the University of Washington (UW). Seven of the total 297.12 acres are excluded from this proposal (see attached "Boundary Line Adjustment" Parcel Map). This will ensure the infrastructure on Parcel 152501-4-027-1002 (see attached "Boundary Line Adjustment" Parcel Map) not eligible for salmon recovery funding will be excluded from this project scope and acquired using other funding sources while simultaneously protected.
