DESCRIPTION
The proposed project will start with landowner outreach with the goal to develop 100% designs of engineered log jams at locations throughout ~1.4 miles of Snow Creek. The project will require modeling of hydraulic, hydrologic and sediment processes within this reach to determine the suitable placement, size and quantity of LWD structures. Stakeholder outreach will occur hand in hand with study and design efforts. Restoring historic LWD structural elements to the reach will alter sediment delivery and retention, increase channel roughness, and habitat complexity within the reach, benefiting ESA-listed salmonid populations in Snow Creek.
