The nearshore synthesis would include a comprehensive review of assessments of juvenile salmon nearshore habitat use and broader ecosystem functions in Hood Canal, Admiralty Inlet and the eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca, identification of any data gaps (or data that may be out-of-date), and collaboration with partners and stakeholders to fill those data gaps. Coordinating the synthesis with juvenile salmon habitat use assessments currently underway, proposed forage fish spawning surveys, and an upcoming study of armoring removal in Hood Canal should enable a timely filling of data gaps.
