DESCRIPTION
Students in the Watershed- North Mason there were approximately 400 fourth graders from Belfair and Sand Hill Elementary Schools took part in various inquiry based learning activities at various stations spread throughout Belfair State Park. North Mason High School students from Hood Canal Institute ran the environmental learning stations that included topics such as "Products of the Forest," Caring for the Forest," "Scat & Tracks," and "Critters of the Forest."DNR, North Mason School District, and HCSEG partnered to provide this exciting educational event.
Students in the Watershed - North Kitsap HCSEG, S'Klallam Tribe, and North Kitsap High School collaborated to host an event modeled after Students in the Watershed at Point Julia, Port Gamble on May 29, 2008.
Approximately 250 fourth grade students and middle school students from Wolfe Elementary School, Poulsbo Elementary School and Kingston Middle School. There were twenty interactive stations, and many educational activities that included arts and crafts, near shore observations, forage fish beach seining, bivalve dissection, and S'Klallam Tribal cultural presentation that included a drum ceremony.
