DESCRIPTION
The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group used this grant to replace an undersized culvert that created a fish passage barrier. The original culvert drained 318 acres of watershed. It was replaced with a 10 foot wide bottomless aluminum arch culvert. Additionally, 3 log weirs were installed upstream of the culvert to allow salmon migration. The stream will now provide 28,000 square feet of spawning habitat for coho, steelhead and cutthroat trout.
