DESCRIPTION

The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group used this grant to replace an undersized culvert (3 ft diameter with a 2.5 ft perch) that blocked passage to 3000 feet of prime Coho spawning and rearing habitat. A new 12 ft culvert was installed with 3 feet of spawning gravel. This project opened up 350 acres of upland salmonid habitat. In addition, the owners of the property donated 20 acres to The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group for conservation.
