DESCRIPTION
The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group used this grant to remove three culverts that blocked fish passage through Grata Creek. The original 48 inch metal pipe culvert (1.5 perch) was replaced with a bottomless concrete arch 12ft x 6ft that was buried 2 ft into the substrate. The two 18 inch CMP culverts were replaced with one 7ft x 9ft steel plate culvert. This project opened up 1,252 sq. miles of salmon habitat.
