DESCRIPTION
The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group used this grant to restore Outlet Creeks existing log weir. High velocity flow had scoured 300 feet of stream bed. This restoration included installation of three 28ft log weirs (1 drop placed 20 feet apart). Additionally, 200 tons of cobble was placed in front of the Large Woody Debris. Boulders were also placed along the stream edge to increase stream bottom roughness. This project opened up 1500 acres of previously inaccessible watershed habitats for salmon.
