DESCRIPTION

The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group used this grant to replace a perched culvert that blocked fish access. The old culvert was replaced with an 8ft culvert that was depressed 25% and laid on a flat grade. Two log weirs were installed downstream to backwater the culvert and make it an extension of the wetland. This project opened up 320 acres of watershed 53 acres of wetlands and a lake and 1 mile of spawning and over-wintering streams.
