DESCRIPTION
Stimson Creek drains into Hood Canal and runs parallel to Elfendaul Rd. between North Shore Rd. and the Belfair Tahuya Rd. The project is located in the SE 1/4, Section 34, T23N, R2W, WM. There are three blocking culverts remaining on Stimson Creek. The lower culvert is 64"x43" CMP arch culvert with a 2 foot perch that is a total blockage. It is proposed to replace the existing culvert with a 10' diameter CMP culvert, countersunk and laid at the grade of the stream. Two log weirs are required to hold the downstream grade. This project and the replacement of the Stimson Creek culvert at Belfair Tahuya Rd. will open up 2 miles of spawning stream, 10 acres of over wintering wetlands and 200 acres of watershed. The project is on public and DNR property.
