DESCRIPTION
This project replaced a 6 foot diameter by 108 foot culvert on Green Diamond Resource Co's 8000 Road at Gibbons Creek with a 65'-span bridge on elevated abutments. The length of Gibbons Creek was regraded and restored 350 feet and a full bank-full width of 25' under new bridge. The stream restoration included installation of anchored LWD and "Constructed Riffle" grade controls to restore stream to correct stream type. Future activities for this grant include site project maintenance and reporting. The project restored fish passage to upstream spawning and rearing habitat. Approximately 6,000’ of habitat was opened upstream to anadromous fish species for spawning and rearing.
