DESCRIPTION
This project seeks to remove the remaining human-made structures within the riparian corridor and shoreline, on this property. These structures include the driveway bridge crossing Cranberry Creek which is a partial fish barrier, two septic systems, a mobile home, several outbuildings and debris along Cranberry Creek leftover from the house moving. Armoring near the bridge footings will also be removed, and a new driveway running through the hay field will be constructed for property access. Following the removal of structures, we will install native plants on 5 acres of the shoreline and riparian corridor of Cranberry Creek, with the focus on areas disturbed by the removal of the structures.
Capitol Land Trust removed the last remaining residential infrastructure from the shoreline of the Twin Rivers Ranch property, located along Oakland Bay near Shelton, WA. Structures removed were two septic systems and a mobile home. The project is expected to benefit Puget Sound Coho, Puget Sound Chinook, Puget Sound steelhead, and coastal cutthroat trout. Due to partial funding, this project scope was reduced to demolition incidentals that support previous acquisition activities in SRFB 07-1841.
