DESCRIPTION

This SRFB project will improve fish passage in a small un-named stream by removing a partial barrier culvert and installing a full spanning bridge across the stream. A second project objective is to increase in-stream habitat by installing 4 complex log jams into the stream channel. Existing boulders from the site will also be placed along the stream channel's bottom to increase habitat diversity. This proposal is a stand-alone project. The overarching project does compliment significant up-stream restoration work to be completed by Lacey, Olympia, and Yelm in 2017. Part of their project will improve 22 acres of wetlands, create a new spring channel, install a crib wall on the river, and replant 200 feet of riparian buffer. Their investment is approximately $1 million dollars.
