DESCRIPTION
South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group (SPSSEG) used this funding to correct a fish passage barrier on Adams Creek, which originates in wetlands and flows 1.5 miles to its confluence with Gull Harbor, approximately 5 miles north of downtown Olympia. The project removed a 30-inch perched culvert and installed a 10-foot round stream simulation culvert that allows access to an additional one mile of upstream habitat for coho, chum and cutthroat. Landowners were involved throughout all stages of this project including construction, planting, plant survival monitoring and maintenance. Gull Harbor has been the focus of on-going conservation and restoration efforts.
