DESCRIPTION
This restoration project is to correct a 33% passable fish passage barrier culvert on Damon Creek at road mile 2.05 on Kirkpatrick Road north of Copalis Crossing, Washington. The barrier will be removed and replaced with a structure that is passable to all aquatic species and life stages in order to open full migrations to 5.82 miles of high-quality spawning and rearing habitat in forestlands.
Six species of salmonids present in the Humptulips River will benefit from the improved habitat conditions in Damon Creek including coho, Chinook, chum, steelhead, cutthroat and Bull trout. The project has been designed and permitted under SRFB grant 19-1184; the current grant proposal, 21-1445, is for the construction phase of the project.
