Delezenne Creek Fish Passage Restoration Project
#14-1159 #14-1159
Organization Chehalis Basin Lead Entity
Sponsor Grays Harbor Conservation District
Status Completed
Schedule Start Date: 12/3/2014 End Date: 6/21/2016
Category Category: Restoration
DESCRIPTION
The goal is to provide unimpeded fish passage to the upper 7 miles of the Delezenne stream basin by restoring the stream to its original oxbow channel. This will be done by working cooperatively with the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company and the Boy Scouts of America to install two concrete bridges 55 feet long by 16 feet wide at both ends of the old oxbow. The existing diverted channel will be filled in and the dam and waterfalls will be blocked off. The old oxbow will be excavated in certain locations to allow stream flow. Large woody debris will be added as well as native shrubs planted.
