DESCRIPTION
The Quinault Indian Nation requests $4.9 million dollars from the Washington State Legislature through the Washington Coast Restoration Initiative. The Quinault Indian Nation (QIN) anticipates treating up to 3-miles (500 acres) of river channel with engineered log jams, planting up to 400-acres of riparian habitat with more than 80,000 conifer and other plants, surveying and treating non-native plants in up to 4-miles (800 acres) of aquatic and riparian habitat, reducing risks of erosion and channel migration for up to 16 private landowners and 1.2 miles of public roads, and maintaining more than 19.76 FTE jobs (total of 38 permanent and seasonal jobs).
