DESCRIPTION
Location: Quillayute River Reach 2 (RM 0.8-1.8) Issue/Limiting Factor being addressed: Habitat Quality; Fish Passage. Mora Rd (US NPS) is regularly subjected to erosional forces from Quillayute River. Current rip rap to prevent erosion is not fish-friendly. Culverts along Mora Rd block access to off-channel habitat. Designs in progress. The 95 percent design phase is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2025, and project implementation is anticipated for 2026. QNR worked with Olympic National Park, Federal Highways Administration, and Wild Salmon Center to submit a funding application to Department of Transportation's National Culvert Removal Replacement and Restoration Grant Program FY23-26 (NOFO #693JJ324NF00025) to finalize designs and implement replacement of the Mora Road culverts. Status: Conceptual designs. Seeking funding through National Park Service / FLTP application.
