DESCRIPTION
Road crossing removal, abandonment, and reroute project on Rayonier 5300. Seven culverts that will be removed providing access to approximately 3.86 miles of salmonid habitat.
The Quileute Tribe will be completing habitat enhancement along tributaries of the Dickey River by implementating large woody material (LWM), ,and native seed and plantings subsequent of a road crossing removal, abandonment, and reroute on Rayonier Road 5300. As part of their RMAP requirements, Rayonier Inc. will be removing eight culverts separate from the project scope (six: fish bearing culverts and two: non-fish culverts). The sponsor will work in conjunction with Rayonier during the culvert removal to add wood and plant the exposed banks for enhanced habitat. This habitat will be used by coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch), chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha), steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), resident trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss and Oncorhynchus clarkii clarkia).
