DESCRIPTION
Haag Springs is an off-channel habitat project in the Bogachiel watershed. It was developed by PCSC in 2004 and includes 2 small ponds and several board controls. The upper pond has become filled in with sediment and the board controls are at the end of their effective lifespan. The goal is to replace the board controls with more permanent log and rock controls and remove the sediment from the pond. This habitat is utilized by coho and steelhead juvenile. This is for planning/restoration/acquisition combined.
Update from PCSC 6/15/23: This project was completed with USFS Title II funds that were leftover from another project, they let us use them for Haag Springs. The plank controls were removed and woody debris was placed in the stream. We have engineered plans that were meant to be able to do more extensive work, but they were created 20 years ago and conditions have changed a lot so the plans were no longer usable.
