DESCRIPTION
The Thunder Road Fish Passage and Water Quality Improvement Project includes replacing four fish passage partial barriers to improve fish access to refugia, and improve the surface of one mile of road with runoff to fish-bearing waters. The fish (salmonid runs) using this part of the watershed all migrate off-reservation into waters co-managed with the State of Washington. The refugia opportunities are essential in this part of the Quillayute, which is particularly vulnerable to extreme weather.
