DESCRIPTION
The Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition, along with landowner Green Crow, will remove two barrier culverts that are together resulting in one blockage. These culverts are undersized for the creek and are perched (outfall drops of 1 foot and .2 foot), all leading to fish passage blockage. The sponsor and landowner will collaborate to remove and replace them with a 60' bridge to achieve this restoration project. The replacement would open approximately 1.2 miles of habitat that is currently accessible only during specific flows to salmonids in Haehule Creek, a tributary of the Ponds Creek and the Dickey River in Clallam County, WA. When completed this project will benefit coho steelhead and cutthroat. The Haehule Creek project is an (RMAP) project with the landowner contributing a 35% match.
