This project produced a comprehensive database and mapped inventory of privately held property in the Nisqually and Mashel river corridors. This inventory will include parcel size, ownership (including contact name and telephone number), current land use and habitat characterization (including salmon habitat restoration potential), and assessment of the willingness of landowners to consider selling a property interest that would provide permanent riparian habitat protection. The inventory included a priority list of acquisition targets, and will allow the Land Trust, the Nisqually Tribe, and others interested in protecting riparian habitat lands along these streams to develop a prioritized acquisition and protection action plan.
